University of Jyväskylä has excellent infrastructure to support microbiological and biogeochemical research, including facilities for stable isotope analyses and for the molecular microbiological work, possibilities to analyse also radioactive tracers and excellent cell imaging facilities. The department has experimental laboratories where isotope incubations can be done in providing support for the woodchip experiments that are performed in the nearby automated LUKE RAS facilities, located only 40 km from University of Jyväskylä.
